FDC Moving to Former Markey’s Location in Fort Wayne

We’re pleased to announce that FDC Event Technology will be moving to a new location at 509 Ley Road in Fort Wayne, effective May 2025. Many in the community already know this address as the longtime home of Markey’s Rental & Staging, making it a seamless transition point for continuing excellent AV and event production services in Fort Wayne.

Moving Forward After the Recent Building Fire

This relocation became necessary following a structure fire on March 4th, 2025, at our current location, which we share with our partners at Fabcore. The fire started during electrical upgrade work in Fabcore’s part of the building and quickly spread into the attic. Thankfully, no injuries occurred, and our office and shop sustained only minimal smoke damage. However, despite minimal physical impact, the fire created operational uncertainties. After careful evaluation, relocating became essential to ensure uninterrupted service to our valued customers.

Markey’s Fort Wayne Closure: A Bittersweet Opportunity

While it’s bittersweet to see Markey’s close their Fort Wayne office, the timing coincidentally aligns perfectly with our relocation needs. Markey’s departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Fort Wayne’s event industry—but it opens a meaningful new opportunity for FDC to step into their well-known facility and continue a legacy of top-tier AV equipment rentals, lighting, staging, and event production solutions.

This transition has special significance given FDC’s deep roots and longstanding relationship with Markey’s. Our co-founder began his career in AV technology at Markey’s Fort Wayne office in 2000, fostering years of mutual respect and collaboration. We’re proud to carry forward Markey’s tradition of quality and professionalism at their former Fort Wayne location.
